External Components
What are external components?
You are going to be learning about what external components are.
Internal means on the inside of something. External means the opposite of this. Using this knowledge, complete the following steps:
1. Write the question 'What are external components?' in your Technologies book
2. Write what you think an external component is under a heading titled 'My understanding'
3. Go to Google
4. Type in 'external components' and click search
5. Look at a few different websites to get a thorough idea of what external components are
6. Summarise your finding to write a definition of external components in your Technologies book

External Components of a Computer System
In the previous step, you and your partner wrote down ideas of what you thought some external components of computer systems would be. Take at the website linked to the picture below and look at the diagram below and see if you were right in naming some of them. Write down any extra ones you may have missed.
Take some time to familiarise yourself with what each of the components is. Using the link from above, write in your Technologies book what a system unit, monitor and modem is. Share your understandings with a partner and adjust your definitions as appropriate.
